Slater Lawn & Garden has been the lawn-and-garden shop on Main Street in Rowlett since 1978. Same family, same trade, two generations on — still small enough that the person answering the phone is the person walking your property.

Our story
Started in 1978.Still here.
Slater Lawn & Garden opened on Main Street in 1978 as a small family operation doing lawn work and selling plants out of a backyard nursery. 47 years later, the nursery is still on Main Street, the trucks are newer, and the crew is still small enough that you see the same faces in your yard every week.
The name has two halves on purpose. We mow, edge, and blow — the “Lawn” half. But we also weed beds by hand, prune perennials at the right time of year, install Knockouts and Texas sage from our own nursery, and fix the sprinkler that’s been bugging you for months. Most crews around Lake Ray Hubbard only do the first half. We do both.
BBB-accredited since 1983. We don’t do high-pressure sales, we don’t upsell, and we don’t spray chemicals near edible beds without asking first. The yard either looks good or it doesn’t — that’s the only thing that matters.
